West Hollywood City Council Action: EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM #weho
At the meeting on June 21st, the City Council took the following action:
EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM
The City Council approved a two year contract for a community alerting and emergency notification system, sometmes known as Reverse 911. This community alerting and emergency notification system will send out automated messages on behalf of the City to alert residents. Messages can be public safety information, emergency information, or even non-emergency public notices. Mass notification systems can target a geographic area and send out messages via telephone, fax, or e-mail. The City of West Hollywood also plans to utilize this mass notification system to alert residents of street closures, evacuations, emergencies, or other public safety events impacting our community.
